Hi, I'm Kelvin! Everyday I feel blessed that I'm healthy, surrounded by wonderful people, and able to learn something new.

I was born in 1996 in the beautiful borough of Queens, NY. Dominican by birth topped off with a dash of New Yorker. My early years consisted of juggling the quick sing-songy Spanish dialect of my people at home with what I suppose was functional English elsewhere. I thank Cartoon Network, Nickleodeon, and Disney Channel, the crème de la crème of children's t.v. in the 90s and 00s.

School was public until high-school. First in Cypress Hills, followed by Brownsville. Because I like to have a dabble at everything, a change of pace found me at a boarding school in Middletown, Delaware, the same one where Dead Poet's Society was filmed. Carpe Diem!

And because I love Middletown so much, Delaware not as much, I knew Wesleyan University, in Middletown, Connecticut was the place for me. There I studied History and Economics with possible stirrings of becoming a lawyer.

My journey continues with me following those lofty goals and appearing at the footsteps of a white-shoe law firm, not as a paralegal, but as a marketer. After an appropriate amount of time, and consultation with my mind and spirit, I knew lawyering and the world of legalese would forever evade me. Albeit, it was here that I found coding.

I've since become a Software Engineer and continue to be one. My tools consist of Neovim, Ghostty, and, increasingly, whichever of the Claude or Chatgpt models I find does my job better than I could.

Now, in my free time, I'm a cinephile, avid learner, and hobbist. Everyone who knows me knows I will die defending Tenet with my last breath. Other movies I hold in similar regard include: There Will Be Blood, and Cure.

I wouldn't say I loved school, but I did and continue to love learning. It's both comforting and terrifying that I'll never know everything in the world. Currently, the worlds of Mathematics and Physics give me that joie de vivre, as well as picking up French on the side to become tri-lingual.

I pick up a new hobby every week. It was film photography recently, but now its become sumi-e, japanese ink painting.

If you for some reason managed to read this far, I applaud you, and I hope you enjoy the rest of the page!

Cheers,

Kelvin
